2. Purpose and scope
These terms apply to general use of this informational website and describe the context in which professional services are offered. They do not replace a separate engagement letter, written quotation or mandatory legal requirements. In the event of conflict between this general information and a specific engagement letter accepted by the parties, the specific agreement prevails to the extent permitted by law.
3. Creation and scope of engagements
Website content, an exploratory conversation or a contact request does not in itself constitute a binding offer or an accepted professional engagement. The engagement, its scope, parties responsible, services and specific conditions are defined in the agreed engagement letter and supplementary written arrangements.
4. Cooperation and client responsibilities
The client supplies the information and documentation reasonably necessary for the engagement accurately, completely and on time, and reports relevant changes. The office applies the care reasonably expected of a certified accountant and draws attention to missing information or statutory deadlines when appropriate. The division of responsibilities, including which party files declarations or accounts, is set out in the engagement letter.
5. Fees and invoicing
Rates, fixed fees where applicable, additional services, adjustment arrangements, VAT treatment and payment periods are governed by the accepted engagement letter, quotation and/or invoice to the extent legally permitted. No unavoidable additional fees or fixed penalties are established by this website. Clients may contact the office about any invoice. Mandatory rules concerning payments, interest and debt collection remain applicable.
6. Professional secrecy and confidentiality
The office respects professional secrecy and applicable confidentiality obligations, except for disclosures required or expressly permitted by law. Clients submit confidential documents only through agreed, appropriate channels. Ordinary email may not be suitable for every type of sensitive document.
7. Data protection and digital processing
Personal data processing is described in our privacy policy. Office operations may involve Microsoft 365, Exact Online, FidManager, WinAuditor, EenvoudigFactureren and other agreed systems. Rights, obligations and any data processing terms are determined under the applicable GDPR and each party’s role. The cookie policy covers our public website.
8. Professional and legal requirements
The office follows applicable professional rules, including requirements on customer due diligence, anti-money laundering, conflicts of interest and identification. If an engagement cannot legally be accepted or continued, the parties discuss the consequences and any closing steps within the limits of the law.
9. Liability and insurance
The office has professional liability insurance. Information about the insurer and relevant coverage is available upon request. Liability matters are assessed according to applicable law, professional duties and specifically agreed engagement conditions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is legally prohibited.
10. Suspension and termination
The duration, termination, potential suspension, transfer of records and settlement upon ending an engagement are governed primarily by the engagement letter and applicable professional and statutory rules. Upon termination, records are handled in compliance with legal retention requirements, professional secrecy and any applicable client rights.
11. Website information
Articles and explanations on this website are for general information only. Legislation, administrative interpretations and circumstances may change; this material does not replace personalised tax, legal or accountancy advice. The office aims to provide accurate and up-to-date information, but visitors should seek guidance appropriate to their specific circumstances. External links are managed by their respective providers.
12. Applicable law, questions and disputes
Engagements are governed by applicable Belgian law, subject to overriding mandatory rules. The parties aim to resolve practical differences directly and in good faith. The competent court is determined under applicable law and contract; these general website terms do not establish a different jurisdiction.
13. Amendments
Changes to website terms do not automatically or retrospectively amend existing signed engagement letters. Any changes to specific contractual conditions take place in accordance with the engagement letter and applicable law. Last updated: 24 October 2026. Read the Dutch original.
